Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor reopens with a new look and exciting new features

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is one of the most famous heritage hotels in Southeast Asia. The property first opened its doors in 1932 and has been a popular choice for luxury travelers visiting Siem Reap since. After almost three years of restoration, it will reopen its doors to guests today, 1st June 2022—a timely decision given that Cambodia has already lifted most major travel restrictions. Here, we take a look at what guests can expect when this luxury hotel in Siem Reap reopens.

1. All rooms and suites have received a meticulous facelift.

The guestrooms—which have been given a makeover with modern amenities like Segafredo coffee machines, Simmons pillow-top mattresses, and USB charging ports—are brighter and more airy.

The French windows, which open to spectacular views of city scenery or the hotel’s plantation-style grounds, have been upgraded, and each room now features a writing desk and a vintage rotary phone as a result of the additional floor space created by eliminating cupboards and replacing them with built-in wardrobes.

All bathrooms have been refurbished with contemporary Italian tiling and rain showers.

2. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor now has 1932, the hotel’s latest signature restaurant.

Named after the year when Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor first opened, 1932 Restaurant serves traditional Royal Khmer cuisine for a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

3. This luxury hotel in Siem Reap is now a shining white oasis in the heart of the city.

The hotel’s famous facade and entire exterior now shine white, instead of its former cream-beige color that was the trademark of French colonial architecture throughout Indochina.

4. Raffles Marquee also opens, offering a stunning setting for your next event.

Another new feature of the hotel is the Raffles Marquee, a uniquely charming events center in a 15-acre garden park. The venue can accommodate a wide variety of events, from Khmer performances and fashion shows to wedding receptions and business conferences.

The enclosed and air-conditioned marquee offers a distinctively unique setting for your special occasion in Siem Reap.

5. Raffles Curated Journeys and Resort Programs: a unique way to explore and unwind

The hotel offers a fascinating itinerary of Raffles Curated Journeys and Resort Programs that blend local charm with global refinement to provide experiences with local flavor.
