City of Dreams Manila’s Employee Love and bayanihan spirit in action!

City of Dreams Manila believes in giving back to the community and is a proud supporter of the local community in the Philippines. In line with this, they have recently launched a Brigada Eskwela drive in support of the local government’s educational thrust, as schools resume in-person classes. This project, which kicked off in August under Property President Geoff Andres’ leadership, involves refurbishing 20 classrooms by the end of September. Working in groups, the volunteers cleaned, repainted, and repaired classrooms and hallways to create a conducive learning environment. The integrated resort also donated cabinets to enhance the school’s facilities.

The integrated resort features an “Employee Love” initiative that fosters both personal and professional wellbeing by focusing not only on preserving a people-focused environment for its workers’ well-being and growth but also on creating chances for them to serve the community and inspire positive change.

“We believe this is the right thing to do. We are in the business not only of delivering exceptional gaming, hospitality and entertainment services to our guests, but to be a good corporate citizen striving to inspire and make a difference in the lives of our colleagues, the communities we work with, and the environment,” Andres said.

Besides Brigada Eskwela, City of Dreams Manila conducts various corporate social responsibility programs supported by the strong spirit of volunteerism among colleagues.

With the relaxation of community quarantines, already 22 outreach programs participated in by 675 volunteer employees from March to August this year were conducted, benefitting disadvantaged communities. Among the beneficiaries to date are Bahay Aruga in Parañaque; Kanlungan sa ErMa in Malate; Children’s Joy Foundation and Reception & Study Center for Children in Quezon City; Kids with Purpose in Las Piñas; and Philippine Red Cross through the company-wide quarterly blood donation drive held onsite.

The all-encompassing ‘Employee Love’ has also benefited 4,000 employees, including a competitive compensation package considered to be one of the best in the industry. City of Dreams is also the first and only integrated resort in the country to offer a second layer insurance coverage for both team members and their enrolled dependents, amounting to up to 100% of the initial maximum benefit limit in case of critical illness.

Employees also enjoy a 50% discount dining privilege in the restaurants operated by the resort and in the three hotels at City of Dreams Manila, and unlimited buffet meals in the team members’ dining room when on duty.

City of Dreams Manila also offers various free learning programs at the company’s online learning academy, Melco Absorb, for the professional and personal growth of its employees.

‘Employee Love’ was also on full display during the pandemic by providing generous financial and health assistance as well as extended paid leaves.
