Commitment to caring for the environment and communities of Khao Yai

Marasca Care was born out of Marasca Khao Yai’s enviable location. Nestled in the picturesque Khao Yai mountain range, and just steps away from UNESCO World Heritage Site, this relaxed yet luxurious hotel is a lush paradise that celebrates nature at its finest.

Drawing inspiration from the natural environment, the hotel has been carefully crafted to match Khao Yai’s unique terrain. Its architecture and landscape are designed in such a way that allows for the preservation of many large trees while also blurring lines between where the building ends and nature begins – it truly feels like you’re part of its surroundings.

“Marasca Care is our commitment to give back to the planet and communities around us who need our help the most. Guided by our mission to deliver a stunning stay experience that will let our guests reset their pace of lives and discover what’s important to them, we want to also extend the same thoughtful hospitality to the surrounding environment and our neighbors in the region,” said Arunwan Chantanavicharn, Brand General Manager of Marasca Hotels & Resorts.

Reducing energy and water consumption with eco-friendly amenities and recycled fabrics

Stepping into the hotel, you immediately sense its devotion to customer care.

To reduce water and energy consumption, you can choose fewer linen changes and use fewer towels. You can also spot in-room bath amenities that come in refillable large-sized bottles, a small but thoughtful step towards sustainability.

Moreover, this eco-friendly hotel in Khao Yai has collaborated with a local fashion house, Atelier Pichita, to design bathrobes made from 100% recycled Single Jersey Fabric. This fabric requires 151 liters less water and 649 less light bulbs to produce as compared to normal single jersey fabric, making it an environmentally-friendly choice.

Additionally, Marasca Khao Yai also outfits its staff with uniforms designed by Atelier Pichita. The uniforms are made from recycled oxford fabrics for a smart and eco-friendly fit.

This simple yet thoughtful gesture helps support the local community by providing employment and business opportunities to artisans in the region.

Fresh, eco-friendly cuisine at Marasca Khao Yai’s Tree Top cafe

Tree Top: tea house and farmer’s café—the hotel’s gathering hub and all-day dining concept—puts an emphasis on sustainability. Their farm-to-table approach significantly reduces transportation emissions while supporting local farmers in their community. Enjoy a meal made with fresh ingredients that are sourced from nearby farms!

Blessed with the ideal climate to cultivate an abundance of fruits, veggies, meat and dairy products—Tree Top Cafe cooks up dishes that you can truly savor. Each dish is made from only the freshest local produce sourced from Khao Yai farms as well as other parts of Thailand.

Their local suppliers include Phuphan Cooperative (Sakolnakorn) for premium Thai wagyu; Sweet & Green (Pak Chong) for vegetables & mushrooms; Suwan Farm and Sweet & Green for corn; Betagro (Pak Chong) for chicken; Sampran Farm (Nahonpathom) for pork; and PLearn chocolate (Rayong and Chantaburi) for their cocoa.

Marasca Khao Yai’s onsite Homegrown garden is teeming with fresh, organic greens; its successful growth can be attributed to the hotel’s natural composting program.

Plus, their daily Homegrown Hour offers guests an exciting opportunity to work side-by-side with a qualified agricultural expert and learn more about organic veggies, composting processes, and planting trees.

Caring for communities: Partnering with local businesses and causes

Marasca Care has two pillars on which it stands: promoting the local farmer community and driving positive social action that brings real benefits to Khao Yai, its home region.

To fulfill these goals, Marasca partners with Baan Dan Kwian Village in Nakhon Ratchasima Province and Baan Bailan Thong Community of Pracheenburi Province for supplies of handmade items or services.

Additionally, they are committed to helping Makutawan School of the Blind through charitable contributions and infrastructure improvements.

“As an organization that has set down roots in Khao Yai, we believe in caring for and empowering our neighbors and local communities in the region,” said Arunwan.

“Through these fruitful partnerships, we hope to enliven communities, sustain local artisanal traditions and give these important local businesses a boost, all while supporting local causes.”

Marasca Khao Yai proudly sources its plant pots and beads for its Paint a Planter and Beading workshops for guests from Baan Dan Kwian, which is known for its pottery made with the finest natural clay sourced from Northeast Thailand’s Mun River.

In addition, Marasca commissions handwoven sunhats and bags crafted by skilled artisans at Bailan Thong in Pracheenburi. Each of the 18 villas and glamper accommodations at the resort features these exquisite items.

Deepening ties with the local community

By donating gently used toys to Marasca Khao Yai, you can make a difference in the lives of those who attend Makutawan School for the Blind. Your donations will be distributed bi-monthly and are sure to bring smiles.

And that’s not all! To make life even better for the students and the school staff, Marasca Khao Yai is also helping to provide water tanks so everyone can have access to clean water.

Enhancing Marasca Care through sustainable solutions

Marasca Khao Yai hopes to further enhance Marasca Care by strengthening its ties with local partners, such as Khao Yai National Park as a partner for forest welfare activities for Marasca guests and staff.

This eco-friendly hotel in Khao Yai is also keen on improving its environmental initiatives by implementing a comprehensive recycling program along with food and waste management strategies. These sustainability initiatives will also be expanded to other Marasca properties, such as the upcoming Marasca Koh Samui resort.
