AirAsia starts exclusive route from Kuala Lumpur to Da Lat, Vietnam

AirAsia celebrates its maiden flight to Da Lat, capital of Lam Dong province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The inaugural flight on December 20, 2019 made history as the first international airline to offer direct services between Kuala Lumpur and Da Lat. 

“We are excited to add Da Lat as our latest destination and to further expand our footprint in Vietnam,” said Nattinee Tawanchulee, AirAsia Regional Commercial Head.This new direct service will provide additional air connectivity to the people in the Central Highlands of Vietnam to travel across the region, as well as introducing Da Lat as a holiday destination to the world. Also known as the City of Eternal Spring for its pleasant weather, Da Lat welcomes visitors all year round.”

Da Lat, a popular tourist destination in Vietnam, is AirAsia’s seventh destination in the country. Other destinations are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho and Phu Quoc.

Places to visit in Da Lat

Scenic mountain views, tranquil lakes, gorgeous waterfalls, lovely gardens and beautiful pagodas await visitors in charming Da Lat. The place was developed as a leisure town by the French in the early 1900s and boasts some fine examples of colonial architecture, such as Da Lat Railway Station and Lycée Yersin. Da Lat is also home to three mansions owned by Emperor Bao Dai, the last emperor of Vietnam. Other famous Art Deco-influenced structures are Domaine de Marie Catholic convent and Da Lat Cathedral.

For nature lovers, Robin Hill offers a panoramic view of the city and its natural surroundings, including Tuyen Lam Lake and Lang Biang Mountain. Trek to the top of Mount Samson and get a highland view of Da Lat. For adventurous souls, visit Datanla Waterfalls and have fun rappelling down the waterfalls, cliff jumping, ziplining, and hiking.

Other attractions include Xuan Huong Lake, a popular icon of Da Lat located in the city center, and Linh Phuoc Pagoda, which is covered in a colorful mosaic made from pieces of pottery and glass. You also shouldn’t miss the peaceful Truc Lam Monastery, the colorful Da Lat Flower Garden, and Valley of Love, a theme park set amidst green hills with delightful gardens and picnic areas. Da Lat is also home to ‘Crazy House‘, one of the most unique hotels in Asia.
